The Two-Year College English Association of Mississippi

How do I become a member of TYCAM?

Our bylaws say that all full-time, part-time, or retired two-year English teachers are members of TYCAM. They cannot vote on officers or determine policy if they do not attend a conference, but they are members and should receive the fairly constant emails. Check the website, tycam.org, and email the webmaster or chair for more information.

Additionally, no membership fees or conference fees are assessed.

What happens at a conference?

The emphasis of each conference is largely determined by the host college, but through its seminars, roundtables, and speakers, the conference always centers on improving pedagogy and fostering professional relationships.

We have a continuing commitment with technology training with TYCAM members. Planners of each conference have worked with the State Board, library personnel, or technical advisers to ensure that we update one another in this vital area.

Plain old conversation is almost everyone’s favorite part of each conference. We share war stories and triumphs and seek advice.
